Melaka Trip 04/04/2008

The Journey continues..after 4 years from our journey to d north to Penang, finally we make our journey to the south but not very south today (04/04/2009) which is Melaka. Yahoo!!!

04/04/2009, 6.45am, after only a few hours of sleep, we started our journey by woon's ‘lou po’, WRX416…Yin n Wen slept in the car and ming tried to take photo of them but not succesful. At the journey to Melaka, Woon keep on asking ‘Are we there yet??’ then Wen also keep on repeat ‘Are we there yet?? Are we there yet??’ (wen: d donkey in shrek really kept repeating this)…haha…actually ARE WE THERE YET??

We reach Ayer Keroh toll at around 8am, we immediately follow the road sign to the town for our Dim Sum breakfast near to the Jonker Street.
We have order few Dim Sum, Loh Mai Kia, and Bao…we took few photo of the food before it went in our mouth… haha…but yin cant wait for the Dim Sum, haven’t take photo she already ‘Itatakimas’…The dim sum not so nice, but the Loh Mai Kai and wukok(Yam) is nice!

we took a lot of pictures along the way from Jonker Street to the Red House -nice view

Got Shark ^^

Many stall along the red house selling souvenir, Woon bought a pair of spider for his car decoration, Yin and Wen bought a wood made gun (shoot using rubber band instead of bullet)…we manage to get a very nice spot to take photo…funny pose also…haha

Red House

then we went to the Great Wall (built by portugese during the olden age when they conquered Malaya)….Woon is struggling finding for toilet he wanted to pee (woon: cant TAHAN dy !!) but we just keep walking until we saw the entrance to Pahlawan Parade only he releases himself…haha…(woon: haiz…so nice)

Next, we went to see the ship (museum), very big ship but we didn't go in and only took few photos at opposite of the road…Too bad, we want to have Titanic action de…haiz...but we have James Bond action of 2 girls holding wood gun...haha…ming kena shoot….haha…

The weather is extremely hot…We sweat like water fall…We walked under the hot sun for a few hours…we all had sun burn coz we 4got 2 bring sun block n wen kena d most). 4 of us are sweating and very thirsty…We then decided to go to eat Nyoya Cendol, Baba Laksa and Nyoya Asam Laksa…We ordered 4 different types of cendol, i.e. Normal, sagu, sea coconut and mango…The ice is fine and melt very very fast…we cant even taste the ice, it already melt…maybe bcoz of the hot weather…and the "Gula Melaka" is too sweet…it mean damn sweet till can not put into mouth…We are unable to finish it all...The Nyoya Asam Laksa is very very very delicious; Baba laksa tastes like curry, which is also not bad…

Jonker 88,The restaurant’s decoration is very special that it decorated by all the antique stuff such as old clock, old calendar, old iron, old type writer, old telephone, etc…Inside the restaurant, the feel is like we back to the past and viewing the antique that have few hundred years old

We walk from Jonker Street to Hotel Puri. The hotel is so nice and so unique. Like Wen said, it’s the shooting scene for Little Nyonya (a famous drama produced by Singaporean). The room is fully booked…we missed a chance to stay at a traditional Baba Nyonya style hotel. No choice, we have to look for another hotel…So Yin called Aldy Hotel to ask about availability of rooms n car park.
After that we walk all the way from Puri back to the car park to carry our bag to Aldy Hotel that near to the red house. We had chosen a family suite (quad) with 2 queen size beds…The room is quite big and comfortable....the only shortcoming is the air cond system of the room…bie tahan…the room is so warm…After we put our bags, we started to plan for our next destinations.

We wanted to go to Chung Wah restaurant to eat chicken rice ball, satay celup at Jalan Ong Kim Wee, eyes on Malaysia, lala and si-ham at lorong, late night movie, Jonker Street and Jacuzzi…In the end we went to Dataran Pahlawan. we decided to watch ‘Shinjiku Incident’ starred by Jackie Chan and Daniel Wu

After that we go to the Jonker street again to eat the famous chicken rice ball…but when we reach there, the “中华茶室(海南鸡饭)” already closed so we have to go to “和记鸡饭团” for our delicious chicken rice ball…what we taste is totally different from what we expected...very nice...one rice ball only RM0.20…very 'big' one also…haha...after we finish eating we return to the hotel for jacuzzi...yeah...

yummy, nice.. each person take 4 rice ball, lol

we drove to Jalan Ong Kim Wee for Satay Celup

we managed to find the restaurant..The restaurant is so crowded..Luckily we are able to get a table…
4 of us ate 50 sticks of food, (including si ham, chicken meat, meat balls, vege, tao fu, prawn, etc) There is a variety of choices…the satay is nice especially the sauce. However, we saw the sauce used by previous customers are recycled for our consumption..(and the customers after us as well..) Can you imagine that the sauce has been consumed by N customers before us..they didnt change it, and we need to continue celup in the sauce, this makes us feel a bit geli…It’s really really really unhygienic

Day 2 (5/4/09) Woon woke up early at 7.30am, followed by Ming and Yin. We wanted to go to the cafe at downstairs of our hotel for breakfast. The food is not served as buffet style. The waiter came and pass us the menu and ask us to select the respective set meal,
Ming ordered a 18 inch big sausage breakfast set…Yin and Wen ordered small sausage and ham breakfast set…and woon ordered chicken burger breakfast set

Picture taken outside of our Hotel...

中华茶室(海南鸡饭)
a long queue at the outside of the restaurant under the hot sun…after 15 minutes waiting, we finally get into the restaurant and have our seat
